We are going to learn more about two agricultural innovators.  One is focused on education and the other on engineering.  Both are bridging the gap between people and their food in exciting ways!

Food + Farm Exploration Center: A Legacy of Agriculture

The Food + Farm Exploration Center is located in Plover, Wisconsin.  The Worzella family founded the center, who has been deeply rooted in agriculture through multi-generations.  It is their goal to promote the understanding of the origins of food, agricultural literacy and to deepen relations between farmers and consumers.  

Mission and Educational Goals

·      Discovery Center:  A multi-sensory facility where persons are immersed in activities and exhibits.  

·      Reconnect People:  Mission is to reconnect people to the food they eat and the people involved in the process.  

·      Non-Profit Organization:  Goal is to help people understand the origins of their food and strengthen the connection between growers and consumers.  

·      Potato and Vegetable Growers:  The multi-generational family grows potatoes and vegetables.

Learning directly from the industry is important to the Food + Farm Exploration Center, while being mindful of the significance of feeding the growing world.  The goal of the Center is to create a better understanding of where food comes from and strengthen the bond between farmers and consumers.  

Reinke’s Partnership and Support

Roberts Irrigation, a Reinke dealer in Plover, WI, is a trusted name in the irrigation industry – just like the company they represent.  When one of their customers asked if Reinke would be interested in this Center, Reinke enthusiastically agreed.  They are mindful of efficient use of resources, as it impacts the future of agriculture.  Reinke made a substantial cash donation and equipment to aid in the construction of this Center.
